Programme Associate, G-6, TA
Job Description
The Programme Associate (G-6) at UNICEF serves as a critical bridge between operational delivery and programme implementation within a Programme Section. The role involves regular liaison with multiple internal units—Programme, Operations, Finance, and Supply—as well as external partners including government ministries, NGOs, and donors. The incumbent supports sector-specific teams (e.g., Health, Education, WASH) or cross-cutting portfolios such as humanitarian action, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and emergency preparedness. Responsibilities include facilitating programme planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s strategic priorities. The role requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. This position reports to a Supervisor or Section Chief and contributes to the delivery of high-impact programmes for children and communities in need.
Requirements
Education: Completion of secondary education is required; a first-level university degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, public administration, international relations, or related disciplines) is highly desirable. Experience: A minimum of six years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme management, administration, or related fields is required. Knowledge of UNICEF’s mandate, structure, and programming priorities is an asset. Skills: Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Language: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic) is an advantage.
