Project Officer, Education – SHINE Project (5 Positions)

ZOA Uganda is seeking to recruit five (5) Project Officers to support the implementation of the SHINE Project. The SHINE Project is a multi-year initiative aimed at improving access to quality education and learning outcomes for children in underserved communities across Uganda. The Project Officers will work closely with local education stakeholders, including schools, district officials, and community leaders, to design, monitor, and evaluate educational interventions. Key responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, developing and implementing teacher training programs, supporting school-based interventions, and ensuring alignment with national education policies. The role involves regular field visits to project sites, coordination with implementing partners, and reporting on progress to donors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, community engagement, and project management, with a passion for inclusive and equitable education.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in education, NGO operations, or community development; demonstrated experience in project management and monitoring & evaluation; strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in at least one local language (e.g., Luganda, Swahili, or Acholi) is highly desirable; experience working in rural or underserved communities; familiarity with Ugandan education systems and policies; ability to work independently and in teams; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within Uganda.
