Consultancy: Market Assessment of Accredited Training Institutions and Job-Ready Skills for Vulnerable Youth in Nairobi
Job Description
The Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD) is seeking an experienced consultant to conduct a comprehensive market assessment of accredited learning institutions offering market-driven, job-ready training programmes in Nairobi and Kiambu (Thika Road Economic Corridor) Counties. The consultant will be responsible for institutional mapping, training programme assessment, institutional capacity evaluation, employability assessment, and industry linkages analysis. Key deliverables include an inception report, comprehensive market survey, stakeholder validation meeting, and a final market survey analysis and report. The consultant will report directly to the Program Officer for the Jenga Ajira Project and must submit all deliverables in Microsoft Word and PDF formats, along with underlying datasets and assessment tools. The role requires extensive fieldwork, including visits to shortlisted institutions, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and verification of accreditation status, training facilities, and industry partnerships.
Requirements
Master’s degree or higher in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Higher Education, TVET, Labour Economics, Public Policy, Youth Development, or any other relevant field; Minimum 7 years’ demonstrated experience in labour market assessments, TVET sector research, skills demand assessments, youth employability programmes, TVET institutional assessments, labour market information systems, market surveys, and education sector research; Demonstrated experience in Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET), TVETA standards, skills ecosystem analysis, youth employment, industry engagement, TVET quality assurance, and employment pathways; Technical expertise in labour market research methodologies; Updated CV(s); Copies of academic certificates; Professional certificates; Valid KRA PIN; Tax Compliance Certificate; Business registration certificate (where applicable); Company profile (for firms); At least three (3) reference letters from clients confirming successful completion of similar TVET or labour market surveys, skills assessments, or youth employability studies.
