Health Specialist, NO-3, Temporary Position

The Health Specialist (NO-3) will provide technical leadership and expertise in health programming, particularly in emergency and development contexts. This role involves designing, implementing, and monitoring health interventions to improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes. The specialist will collaborate with government counterparts, UN agencies, and NGOs to strengthen health systems, ensure equity in service delivery, and advocate for child health priorities. Key responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, developing health strategies, providing capacity-building support to local partners, and ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic plans and global health agendas. The position requires extensive field experience in challenging environments, often in conflict or post-conflict settings.

Advanced university degree (Master's) in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field; minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in health programming, preferably in international development or humanitarian settings; demonstrated expertise in child health, maternal health, or nutrition; experience in emergency response and health system strengthening; strong analytical, communication, and advocacy skills; proficiency in English and French (or another UN language) is highly desirable; familiarity with UNICEF's mandate and operational frameworks; ability to work under pressure in high-risk environments.
