General Auto Technician

Dahabshiil Motors is seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive General Technician to join their workshop team. The General Auto Technician is responsible for performing general automotive repairs and maintenance services, including diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition and meet customer satisfaction. The role involves mechanical repairs such as engine overhauls (petrol and diesel), suspension systems, brake systems, and transmission repairs. The technician will conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid level checks. They will utilize specialized tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting, perform professional wheel alignment and balancing, and ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, visual inspections, and safety guidelines. The technician is expected to maintain dealership productivity by meeting 'Standard Repair Time' (SRT) targets while adhering to safety regulations and workspace organization. They will also communicate complex mechanical faults and repair recommendations to Service Advisors for transparent customer reporting and accurately document all repair orders, parts used, and preventive maintenance recommendations. The role reports directly to the Head of Service.

Minimum of a Certificate in Automotive Engineering or Automotive Systems; Must possess a valid driver’s license; 4–10 years of experience in general repairs and maintenance; Strong understanding of automotive systems, tools, and repair techniques; Ability to partially or fully disassemble and reassemble engines (diesel and petrol); Ability to perform repairs on Transmission, Suspension, Brakes system, Cooling systems, and other vehicle systems with high accuracy and guarantee of work; Proven ability to work independently with high attention to detail; Customer service-oriented approach with effective communication skills.
