Sudan – Head of Mission

The Head of Mission is responsible for overseeing the entire operations of COOPI's foreign office in Sudan. This includes mission development, staff management and training, budget sustainability, security, and compliance with COOPI and donor procedures. The role involves representing COOPI in relations with local and international stakeholders, managing relations with major institutional donors, and ensuring the correct implementation of projects. The Head of Mission supervises project managers to ensure proper implementation in compliance with contractual constraints and donor procedures, and collaborates with the Regional Coordination or headquarters in defining country strategy and intervention priorities. Additionally, the role includes managing logistics, procurement, and security, as well as overseeing the drafting of project documentation, budgets, and reports for submission to donors and headquarters.

University degree in relevant subjects; At least 5 years of proven and successful experience in similar roles in humanitarian aid and international development; Previous working experience with AICS, DG-ECHO, UE and UN-Agencies; Demonstrated skills in effective communication (oral and written), negotiation, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and organisation; Experience in dealing with governmental/local authorities, international organisations (IOs) and NGOs; Demonstrated ability to work in stressful environments; Experience working in conflict-prone contexts; Proven ability to manage a team; Fluent knowledge of English and Italian is required; Computer skills; Previous working experience with COOPI; Experience in managing complex consortia/partnerships.
