Information Management Assistant - WASH Section
Job Description
The Information Management Assistant supports the WASH Programme and WASH Sector Coordination Team by ensuring the timely collection, management, analysis, visualization, and dissemination of high-quality information to support evidence-based decision-making, coordination, planning, monitoring, reporting, and resource mobilization. The position serves as a key focal point for information management systems and processes, enabling UNICEF, government counterparts, donors, and sector partners to effectively monitor needs, track responses, identify gaps, and prioritize interventions. Key responsibilities include maintaining information management systems and databases, ensuring the quality and integrity of sector data, supporting partner reporting processes, producing analytical products and dashboards, conducting data and GIS analysis, and developing information products that support operational and strategic decision-making. The role also contributes to strengthening information management capacity, improving data quality and reporting compliance, and supporting the WASH Sector's transition and localization objectives through knowledge management and sustainable information management practices.
Requirements
A university degree (Bachelor's) in Information Management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), or another relevant field is required; A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in information management, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, GIS, statistics, database management, reporting, programme support, or a related field is required; Experience working with data collection, data cleaning, data visualization, dashboards, reporting systems, or geographic information systems is desirable; Experience using Microsoft Excel and other data management or visualization tools is required; Experience in the humanitarian, development, WASH, or United Nations sector is considered an asset; Recent graduates with relevant academic backgrounds and demonstrated analytical skills are encouraged to apply; Fluency in English and Arabic is required, including strong written and verbal communication skills; Knowledge of French is an asset.
