Job Description
Right To Play is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Technical Director to lead its Ethiopia program. The Technical Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical oversight, and programmatic guidance to ensure the effective implementation of Right To Play’s play-based interventions across the country. This role involves designing and adapting programs to address the unique needs of children and youth impacted by poverty, conflict, and inequality in Ethiopia. The Technical Director will work closely with the Country Director, program teams, and external stakeholders to develop high-quality, evidence-based interventions that align with Right To Play’s global standards and local context. Additionally, the role includes ensuring robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems are in place to track impact and drive continuous improvement. The Technical Director will also play a key role in fundraising, partnership development, and advocacy to secure resources and expand Right To Play’s reach in Ethiopia.
Requirements
Master’s degree in International Development, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field; minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in program management, preferably in child protection, education, or health sectors; demonstrated experience in designing and implementing play-based interventions; strong leadership and team management skills; proven track record in fundraising, partnership development, and stakeholder engagement; excellent analytical and strategic planning abilities; fluency in English (additional local languages are an asset); experience working in Ethiopia or similar contexts is highly desirable.
