Manager – Credit Strategy & Operations

Job Description

Own Apollo’s acquisition credit engine, which determines which farmers to serve and on what terms, while ensuring profitability and fraud protection as the company scales. This role focuses on high-impact problems such as framing credit decisions, analyzing data, providing clear recommendations, aligning cross-functional teams, and executing strategies in collaboration with credit leadership. Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end acquisition credit strategy (approval criteria, credit limits, pricing, product structuring, and profitability), acting as a thought partner with Product, Commercial, Growth, Engineering, and Finance teams to align credit strategy with business milestones, building and running monitoring and learning loops (dashboards, controls, automated triggers, experiments, and corrective actions), leading fraud and data verification strategy and operations (rules, detection processes, SOPs, incentives, performance management, and quality), spending regular time in the field to meet farmers, agrodealers, field officers, and verification agents to gather first-hand insights, coaching and developing the team to build accountability, resilience, and future leaders, and adopting AI-first workflows to automate repetitive tasks and improve quality. The role evolves with Apollo’s growth and suits someone comfortable with frequent change and high ownership.

Requirements

4–7 years of experience in credit, risk, strategy, analytics, or product roles within financial services or consulting; exposure to credit or lending risk including understanding of lending economics (risk, pricing, portfolio performance); structured, first-principles problem-solving with a track record of turning ambiguous business problems into implemented policies; exceptional analytical ability including SQL and dashboard tools; experience collaborating across functions, influencing without formal authority, and leading teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments; strong communication skills for aligning teams on facts and constructively challenging the status quo; willingness to travel extensively to Apollo’s markets and spend time in the field with farmers; hands-on experience with AI tools and AI-assisted workflows; degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as engineering, statistics, mathematics, or economics; direct experience designing and optimizing credit policies (approve/decline, limit assignment, pricing) or fraud frameworks is a strong plus.
