Acacia Foundation Limited is a leading manufacturer of plastic bottles, specializing in the production of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) containers for various industries. The company places a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and sustainability in its manufacturing processes. **Job Summary:** We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee and manage our PET bottle manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production processes, maintain high-quality standards, and lead a team of production staff to meet production targets. **Key Responsibilities:** - Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. - Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. - Train, mentor, and manage a team of production workers, including machine operators and quality control inspectors. - Schedule and assign tasks to production staff to meet production deadlines. - Maintain production records, reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-saving measures. - Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and operated in accordance with safety protocols. - Collaborate with the quality control team to address any production issues and ensure product consistency. - Report production performance, challenges, and recommendations to senior management. - Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations. **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):** - Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. - Maintain high product quality with minimal defects. - Ensure on-time delivery of products to customers. - Reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). - Foster a safe and productive work environment. **Working Conditions:** - Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical hazards. - May require standing for extended periods and lifting/moving materials as needed. - Shift work may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field; Strong knowledge of fleet management software (e.g., Fleetio, Teletrac Navman, or similar); Proven ability to manage budgets and control operational costs; Excellent leadership and team management skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; Familiarity with Ugandan road transport regulations and safety standards; Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; Experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers and service providers; Certification in fleet management (e.g., NAFA, CAFM) is a plus.
