Protection Coordinator

The Protection Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization's protection program, which includes providing direct support to human rights defenders (HRDs) at risk. This role involves assessing security risks, developing individualized protection plans, and coordinating emergency responses. The Coordinator will also conduct training sessions on digital and physical security, monitor the security situation of HRDs, and liaise with international partners to ensure comprehensive protection measures. Additionally, the role requires maintaining confidential records, reporting on protection activities, and advocating for the safety of HRDs in international forums.

Bachelor’s degree in human rights, international law, social sciences, or a related field; minimum 5 years of relevant experience in human rights protection, security management, or humanitarian work; strong knowledge of international human rights frameworks and protection mechanisms; experience in conducting risk assessments and developing security plans; proficiency in English (additional languages such as French, Arabic, or Spanish are highly desirable); excellent communication and advocacy skills; ability to work under pressure in high-risk environments; familiarity with digital security tools and practices.
