To date, Motive Africa has supported more than 20,000 MSMEs through training, provided over 15,000 coaching and mentoring services, implemented 500+ digitalization initiatives, developed more than 250 training manuals and guidelines, and strengthened over 1,000 BDS intermediaries across Ethiopia. About the Program The MESMER (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Resilience) Program is strengthening the capacity and resilience of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by improving access to quality Business Development Services (BDS), financial literacy, entrepreneurship support, and business advisory services. To establish a pool of qualified regional Business Advisors, the program is inviting applications from experienced professionals to participate in a Business Advisor Training of Trainers (ToT) and Certification Program. Successful participants will be certified to provide standardized business advisory, coaching, and enterprise development services to MESMER supported MSMEs. The program will be implemented by Motive Africa in collaboration with FC Africa (MESMER Program) Training Objectives The program aims to: - Build a pool of competent and certified Business Advisors. - Strengthening participants' knowledge and practical skills in Business Development Services. - Enhance advisory competencies in entrepreneurship, financial management, business diagnostics, coaching, mentoring, and enterprise growth. - Prepare certified advisors to deliver standardized BDS training and coaching to MSMEs within their respective regions. Target Regions Applications are invited from professionals based in or serving the following regions: - West Oromia (Nekemte, Gimbi, Shambu, Bako & Ijaji, Dembi Dollo, Chanka) - Southwest Oromia (Jimma, Bedele & Chora, Metu, Hurumu, Gore, Agaro, Yebu, Gera) - Southwest Region (Bonga, Mizan-Aman, Masha, Teppi & Meti, Tarcha & Gessa) - Benishangul Gumuz Region (Asosa & Bambasi, Metekel) - Gambella Region - Somali Region - Afar Region Who Should Apply? Applications are encouraged from qualified professionals working in: - Universities - Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Institutions - Regional and Woreda Bureaus of Labor and Skills - MSME Development - Business Development Service Providers - Entrepreneurship Support Organizations - Financial Institutions - NGOs and Development Organizations - Private Consulting Firms - Other institutions providing enterprise development support Qualified women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The program aims to achieve at least 70% women participation and PWD. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Applicants must: - Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, Cooperative Management, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, or another relevant discipline. - Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience supporting MSMEs, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, business advisory services, enterprise development, coaching, or mentoring. - Demonstrate experience facilitating training, workshops, or adult learning program. - Possess strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. - Be proficient in the working language of their assigned region. - Be available to participate throughout the training, coaching, mentoring, and certification period. - Demonstrate commitment to supporting MSMEs after certification. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with: - Previous experience delivering Business Development Services (BDS). - Experience coaching entrepreneurs or MSMEs. - Knowledge of financial literacy and loan readiness. - Experience conducting Business Health Assessments or enterprise diagnostics. - Familiarity with entrepreneurship development programs. - Experience working with women owned and youth led enterprises. Programs Components Selected participants will complete: - Five day intensive Training of Trainers (ToT) - Practical facilitation sessions - Business advisory simulations - Coaching and mentoring assignments - Business Health Assessment application - Enterprise coaching practicum - Competency assessment - Certification evaluation Certification Requirements Participants will be eligible for certification upon successful completion of: - Full attendance during the ToT. - Written competency assessment. - Practical facilitation assessment. - Coaching and mentoring assignments. - Business advisory portfolio. - Replication of BDS training. - Compliance with program requirements and code of conduct.
