Senior Transport Specialist

The Senior Transport Specialist will provide high-level technical expertise to support the development and implementation of sustainable transport infrastructure and systems in the Asia-Pacific region. This role involves advising on policy frameworks, conducting feasibility studies, and designing transport projects that align with climate resilience and low-carbon development goals. The specialist will lead stakeholder consultations with governments, private sector entities, and development partners to identify priorities and secure funding for transport initiatives. Additionally, the position includes overseeing the preparation of project documents, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with environmental and social safeguards. The specialist will also mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the organization.

Master’s degree in Transport Engineering, Urban Planning, Economics, or a related field; Minimum of 10 years of experience in transport sector development, preferably in project design, policy formulation, or infrastructure financing; Strong knowledge of sustainable transport solutions, including public transit, non-motorized transport, and climate-resilient infrastructure; Experience in conducting feasibility studies, economic analyses, and environmental impact assessments; Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills; Proficiency in English; Experience working in the Asia-Pacific region is highly desirable.
