Accountant/Finance Officer

A multi-disciplinary firm is seeking an Accountant/Finance Officer to manage financial accountability, statutory filings, and project-based accounting. The role involves processing and recording all financial transactions with proper authorization and documentation, maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS and company policies, and managing month-end processes including reconciliations, fixed asset updates, and bank account reconciliations. The position requires implementing project-based accounting to track profitability, expenses, and revenue recognition for projects, preparing weekly and monthly status reports on receivables, payables, and inventory, and supporting the Finance Manager in preparing management accounts and supporting schedules for financial statements. The Accountant/Finance Officer will also ensure timely filing of all statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, NSSF, Income Tax, URSB), manage accounts receivable/payable, cash flow, and financial risks, and liaise with auditors while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Integrated Management System requirements.

Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent); minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance; strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations; proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar); excellent analytical and reporting skills; attention to detail and ability to work under pressure; experience with project-based accounting is an added advantage; familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
