Finance Officer (Female)

The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the organization's financial planning, accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. The role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, prepares financial reports, manages daily accounting transactions, and supports audits while maintaining compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards. Key responsibilities include preparing organizational and program/project financial plans and reports, conducting financial analysis such as cost estimation, revenue projection, cash flow forecasting, and financial appraisal. The Finance Officer will record daily financial transactions, prepare and post journal entries, maintain accounts payable and receivable records, reconcile bank statements, prepare invoices and payment vouchers, monitor petty cash and company expenses, and support the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports. Additionally, the role involves assisting with tax, VAT, and statutory reporting, supporting internal and external audits, and maintaining proper filing of financial documents. Other accounting duties may be assigned by the Finance or Program Managers.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred); 2–4 years of relevant experience; private sector experience is preferred; solid knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Peachtree accounting software; strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills; high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail; strong communication skills in English and Amharic (written and spoken); female applicants only.
