Education Project Assistant Officer – Education in Emergency (EIE)
Job Description
The Education Project Assistant Officer will be responsible for day-to-day program implementation and managing community outreach activities to ensure efficient and effective sensitization, mobilization, and participation of targeted communities and stakeholders. The role involves conducting program awareness, mobilization, enrollment drives, and beneficiary selection through community meetings. The officer will assist in procurement, distribution, and utilization of program supplies, organize community meetings, and facilitate the selection of program community structures. They will provide weekly progress update reports, participate in collecting case studies to demonstrate program impact, and ensure proper filing and documentation of relevant program documents. Additionally, the officer will support the implementation of cross-cutting issues such as participation, gender, safeguarding, and disability inclusion, and promote children’s rights by documenting and reporting child rights gaps at the community level.
Requirements
Technical diploma/degree in Education, technical teachers training, social work, or development studies; at least 3 years of experience in education, preferably in an (I)NGO environment or educational setting (prior teaching experience is an asset); experience in community mobilization, education management, cash distributions, case management, and relationship techniques; good verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills; basic knowledge of project planning, implementation, and monitoring; good understanding of local language and cultural practices; basic understanding of child rights frameworks; desirable: computer skills, reporting skills, education in emergency minimum standards, interpersonal skills.
