Geotechnical Laboratory Officer

The Geotechnical Laboratory Officer will report directly to the Director of Materials Testing Laboratories Unit. Primary responsibilities include conducting tests on construction materials, interpreting results, and considering measurement uncertainty where applicable. The role involves generating and reporting test results according to relevant standards, maintaining accurate technical records, and participating in the development, control, and monitoring of Management System Documents. The officer will ensure the validity of test results through method validation and evaluation of Measurement Uncertainty, conduct internal laboratory audits, and perform root cause analysis for nonconformities. Equipment maintenance will be conducted following manufacturer instructions or applicable work instructions, and corrective actions will be implemented as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical laboratory testing and analysis; familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025); strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in data reporting and technical documentation; ability to conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions; experience with equipment calibration and maintenance.
