Public Partnerships Specialist

Job Description

The Public Partnerships Specialist (P-3) will work within the Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR) to strengthen UNICEF’s strategic positioning with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF). The role involves monitoring institutional and political developments, identifying opportunities for policy influence, resource mobilization, and strategic collaboration. The Specialist will support high-level engagement with senior partner counterparts, provide strategic analysis, and coordinate across the organization to ensure coherent and effective engagement with IFIs. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing influence, engagement, and advocacy strategies; coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives; negotiating and planning events; managing contact with resource partners; and providing strategic and technical support to senior management. The position also involves preparing comprehensive briefs, reports, and documentation for the Executive Director and senior officials, as well as monitoring and reporting on discussions with partners. Additionally, the Specialist will contribute to corporate policies, procedures, and knowledge management processes, and support capacity-building initiatives for Regional and Country Offices.

Requirements

Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in International Business Relations, Political Science, Economics, Finance, International Development, or other relevant technical fields; At least 5 years of relevant work experience in public partnerships, external relations, resource mobilization, public policy, or diplomacy; Demonstrated experience working with or for International Financial Institutions; Experience engaging with multilateral organizations, governments, or international financial institutions; Experience developing and implementing partnership, engagement, or advocacy strategies; Experience preparing strategic analysis, executive briefing materials, and recommendations for senior leadership; Experience monitoring and analyzing political, institutional, and financing trends and translating them into actionable recommendations; Experience coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and high-level engagements.
