Job Description
The Budget and Finance Intern will support the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Nairobi office. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of financial statements, analyzing budget variances, and supporting the implementation of financial policies and procedures. The intern will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, participate in budget monitoring activities, and contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts. This role offers exposure to international financial management standards and provides practical experience in a UN agency environment.
Requirements
Enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; strong analytical and numerical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software; familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural environment; fluency in English required; knowledge of additional UN languages is an asset.
