Senior Accountant

Our client, high end safari group, is looking for a Senior Accountant to be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic decision-making verification of the accuracy of financial data, analyzing and ensuring financial data is recorded in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards. Key Responsibilities: - Generate invoices, post payments, reconcile accounts, investigate billing discrepancies, and distribute customer statements and ageing reports. - Analyze creditworthiness, monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and implement credit control policies and procedures. - Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, maintain vendor records, reconcile statements, and ensure timely payments. - Handle tax filings (VAT, PAYE, withholding tax), ensure timely remittance, stay updated on tax laws, and assist in tax audits. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, and oversee cash flow management. - Implement and maintain internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting practices, and collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies. - Work with sales, customer service, and other teams to resolve customer issues, manage credit terms, and assist with month-end closing procedures.

Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree in Finance or any other related field; Proficient in using financial software and tools; Hands-on with integrity and strong interpersonal skills; Experience in the hospitality or tourism sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
