CBS Officer
Job Description
The CBS Officer will be responsible for supporting, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of the core banking system to ensure efficiency, reliability, and minimal downtime. The role includes executing end-of-day (EOD) processes accurately and identifying system-related issues in a timely manner. Key responsibilities include performing daily end-of-day (EOD) processes to maintain the integrity of business reports, ensuring complete extraction and distribution of POST EOD reports into designated systems, and monitoring system performance metrics such as input/output waits, system and database locks, and user license usage. The officer will proactively investigate and resolve CBS service desk incidents and requests within agreed timelines, manage core banking application and webserver monitoring and reporting, and enforce strict change control measures for system customizations. Additionally, the role involves managing disaster recovery and business continuity for core banking system services, documenting all customizations and modifications made to the system, and scheduling, planning, and supervising the installation and testing of new products, upgrades, patches, or improvements. The CBS Officer will also gather system enhancement details and reporting requirements from users, work with the IT team to develop technical specifications, maintain system performance through proactive monitoring and analysis, troubleshoot network problems, and escalate issues to the CBS vendor as needed. Maintaining up-to-date documentation of core banking system operations manuals and procedures is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; At least 3 years of experience in core banking system administration or a similar role; Experience with banking software, particularly core banking systems (CBS); Strong knowledge of database management, system performance monitoring, and troubleshooting; Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning; Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages, and system monitoring tools; Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Certification in ITIL or related frameworks is an added advantage.
