Finance Volunteer
Job Description
To support the Finance Unit in the efficient processing, tracking, and reconciliation of Value Added Tax (VAT) refund claims in compliance with Government of Tanzania procedures and organizational policies. The role contributes to timely recovery of VAT refunds through coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), strengthening financial accountability and operational efficiency. Under the direct supervision of Finance Associate and over overall guidance of Finance Officer, the WFP Volunteer will support the monitoring and recording of VAT claims, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely reconciliation. Responsibilities include retrieving and compiling monthly tax invoices, preparing VAT claim forms in triplicate for submission to MoFA, maintaining an organized VAT claims tracking system, conducting follow-ups with MoFA for VAT clearance documentation, facilitating submission of cleared claims to TRA, and assisting in compliance with WFP financial procedures and donor requirements. The role also involves supporting reconciliation of VAT receivables and providing updates for financial reporting, as well as identifying delays or discrepancies in the process.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree; 2 Years of experience; Ability to work diligently and meet deadlines; Accurate and complete Workday profile including employment history, academic qualifications, language skills, and UN grade (if applicable); Collaboration Skills; Communication Skills; Computer Skills; Financial Literacy Skills
