Civil Engineer
Job Description
The Wash Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects in target communities. This includes assessing water supply systems, designing appropriate sanitation solutions, and ensuring compliance with national and international WASH standards. The role involves collaborating with local authorities, community leaders, and technical teams to deliver sustainable WASH infrastructure. Additionally, the Wash Engineer will provide technical training to community members and local staff, conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of projects, and prepare detailed reports for donors and stakeholders. The position requires a strong understanding of WASH principles, project management skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or related field; minimum of 3 years of experience in WASH projects; experience in designing and implementing water supply systems; knowledge of sanitation and hygiene promotion; proficiency in project management tools; strong communication and training skills; ability to work in remote areas; fluency in English and Kinyarwanda.
