Registered Nurse III (General Nursing)
Job Description
To provide comprehensive general nursing care by admitting, assessing, and monitoring patients, administering treatments, and supporting clinical procedures to ensure safe, evidence-based care and optimal patient outcomes in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Reporting to the Nurse In-charge in the area of deployment, the position holder will provide general nursing care and support to patients in accordance with hospital standards and protocols. Responsibilities include receiving, registering, and recording patient information for medical officers and specialists; administering prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely; monitoring patients’ progress, documenting observations, and reporting changes; supporting medical officers during examinations, procedures, and treatments; ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection prevention and control standards; collaborating with healthcare professionals to manage complex medical conditions; and participating in nursing research, training, and continuous professional development activities within the hospital. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements
Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN); Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage; Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya; Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya; Proficiency in computer applications; Compliance with Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya; Critical thinking skills and good clinical judgement; High levels of empathy and compassion towards patients and their families; Effective communication and teamwork; Adaptability and resilience in demanding patient care environments; Effective time management and organizational skills; Ethical practice and professional integrity in line with nursing standards; Kenya Revenue Authority - Valid Tax compliance certificate; Directorate of Criminal Investigations - Certificate of good conduct; Higher Education Loans Board - Compliance certificate (where applicable); Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission - Self-Declaration form; Credit Reference Bureau - Certificate of clearance or credit report
