CIS Special Needs Teacher
Job Description
Adapt and deliver the Cambridge International curriculum to meet the individual learning needs of learners with special educational needs. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements, ensuring personalized learning pathways. Monitor learner progress through regular assessments and collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment. Serve as a key member of the special needs department, contributing to curriculum adaptation and resource development. Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching methodologies. Foster a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes the holistic development of students with diverse learning needs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, or a related field; At least 5 years of experience supporting learners with special educational needs; Minimum 2 years of experience heading a special needs department; Valid TSC certificate and active (mandatory); Strong communication and collaboration skills; Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs; Experience with Individual Education Plans (IEPs); Familiarity with Cambridge International curriculum is an added advantage.
