• Prepare laboratory rooms, equipment, apparatus, chemicals and specimens for practical lessons. • Assist science teachers during practical experiments and demonstrations. • Ensure laboratory equipment is properly cleaned, stored and maintained. • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of laboratory equipment and materials. • Monitor stocks of chemicals, reagents, consumables and other laboratory supplies. • Report damaged, missing or expired equipment and materials. • Assist in preparing practical examination materials. • Ensure proper labelling and storage of chemicals and specimens. • Maintain laboratory safety standards at all times. • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is available and used. • Support proper disposal of laboratory waste. • Maintain laboratory records, including stock and equipment registers. • Keep laboratories clean, organised and ready for use. • Report accidents, spills or safety incidents immediately to the relevant supervisor. • Assist with routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
