Critical Care Nurse

To provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients by delivering continuous assessment, advanced patient monitoring, life-support interventions, and evidence-based nursing care while ensuring patient safety and quality clinical outcomes. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU/HDU settings, monitoring vital signs and promptly responding to changes in clinical condition, administering medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products safely and accurately, and operating and monitoring critical care equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps. The nurse will assist in emergency procedures, resuscitation, and advanced life support interventions, maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation, implement infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care. Additionally, the role includes educating and supporting patients' families regarding treatment and ongoing care, ensuring proper use and maintenance of critical care equipment and supplies, and participating in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and continuous professional development while upholding professional, ethical, and regulatory nursing standards at all times.

Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized institution; Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing; Registered nurse with a valid Nursing Council of Kenya practicing license; Valid BLS and ACLS certification; At least two years' experience in the ICU, HDU, emergency department, or a similar critical care setting; Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
