Senior Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team at DP World Logistics Rwanda. The Senior Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment used in our logistics operations. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment operates at peak efficiency to support seamless logistics operations. The Senior Mechanic will also provide technical guidance to junior mechanics, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field, with hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, preferably in a logistics or transportation environment; Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment systems; Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment; Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints; Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team; Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards; Experience with preventive maintenance programs; Familiarity with Rwanda’s regulatory requirements for mechanical operations.
