Technician

We are seeking a skilled Technician to service, maintain, repair, and support agricultural machinery and equipment across key operational areas in Somalia, including Mogadishu, Baidoa, Kismayo, and other regions. The Technician will conduct assembly of new tractors and machinery, perform pre-delivery inspections, and provide post-delivery installation of retailed equipment. The role involves routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of tractors and related machinery to ensure minimal downtime. Additional responsibilities include conducting warranty-related repairs, preparing tractor maintenance schedules, installing and calibrating new machinery, training farmers and operators on safe equipment use, maintaining accurate repair records, supporting field trainings, and collaborating with other teams to improve service delivery. The Technician must be prepared for deployment in Mogadishu, Kismayo, Baidoa, and Southwest regions.

Diploma in agricultural engineering or mechanical engineering or a related field; 3+ years of hands-on experience in agricultural mechanics may substitute for the diploma; 3+ years of proven experience in repairing machinery, tractors, and farm equipment; proficiency in English and Somali (additional languages like Italian and Arabic are an advantage); strong report writing and communication skills; willingness to work remotely and travel to various regions within Somalia, Somaliland, and outside the country; strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding, and basic electronic systems; familiarity with agricultural mechanization implements and workshop tools; knowledge of workshop safety standards; valid passport and driving license are advantageous.
