Project Assistant (Reintegration)

Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the National Officer (Reintegration), the selected candidate will support the implementation of reintegration projects. The role involves providing general and clerical assistance in project activities, including retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information/data on specific project topics. The incumbent will assist in monitoring budgets, updating budget-related information, and supporting administrative coordination for project implementation. This includes liaising with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain clearances, process actions, and follow up on administrative tasks. The candidate will draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other documentation. Additional responsibilities include supporting the organization of meetings, workshops, and training sessions, responding to general information requests, setting up and maintaining files/records, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

School diploma with three years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant professional experience. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations is required. Prior work experience with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups is essential. Proven experience in relevant field and working with vulnerable groups is required. Proven experience in provision of protection activities is required. Proven analytical, interpersonal, mediation, and organizational skills are required. Excellent level of computer literacy is required. Prior experience working with returnees in implementation of protection activities is essential. Fluency in Amharic/Afan Oromo (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of English, French, or Spanish is an advantage.
