Job Description
The Faculty, Psychiatry Department at UGHE is responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric education, training, and clinical services. The role involves teaching medical students and residents, developing curriculum content, and providing clinical supervision in psychiatric care. Faculty members are expected to engage in research activities, publish findings, and contribute to the advancement of mental health care in Rwanda and globally. The position requires active participation in departmental meetings, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and mentorship of junior faculty and students. The work environment includes modern facilities, access to digital resources, and a supportive academic community focused on global health equity.
Requirements
MD degree or equivalent in Psychiatry; Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry; Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry; Experience in medical education and curriculum development; Strong research background with publications in peer-reviewed journals; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Proficiency in English (French and Kinyarwanda are advantageous); Commitment to global health equity and community-oriented care.
