Credit Officer

Job Description

The Credit Officer will ensure the smooth running of the operations department by implementing proper control measures and adhering to established policies and procedures. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean loan portfolio with a Portfolio at Risk (PAR) of not more than 3% by conducting thorough loan appraisals in accordance with set policies and procedures. The Credit Officer will prepare and submit all required documents for loan processing to the credit committee for approvals, advise clients on necessary documentation, and ensure loan application forms are processed within prescribed timelines as per the Credit Policy. Additionally, the role involves conducting risk assessments to optimize the recovery of disbursed funds and advising management on reviews of loan policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the company’s strategy. The Credit Officer will stay updated on new types of loans, financial services, and products to meet clients’ needs effectively. Developing ongoing relationships with clients to achieve high levels of customer loyalty and satisfaction is a key responsibility. The role also includes handling customer complaints and taking appropriate action to resolve them, ensuring all filing of credit and loan information is done accurately and timely, and regularly following up on outstanding loans to provide reports to the credit administrator or designated official.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related course, preferably Business Administration from a reputable University; Fresh graduate; Must be able to ride a motorcycle and possess a valid riding license or be willing to learn within the 1st month of engagement; Should be fluent in commonly used local languages and ready to work in any of the company’s branches; Should be aged between 22 – 25 years; Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work; Self-driven and result-oriented; Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior; Remain flexible to adapt to changes in the work environment; Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, attention to detail, and accuracy; Basic computer skills, including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets; Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with clients and other staff.
