Software Engineer (Human Data Platforms)

Build and ship systems across the stack — APIs, UI, and data pipelines. You will work on data and document infrastructure that powers model evaluation, secure data handling, and complex document workflows. Expect to move fast, own problems end-to-end, and operate with high autonomy in a small, senior team. Primary duties include shipping features across backend (Python/FastAPI) and frontend (React/Next.js/TypeScript), building data pipelines for evaluation and model control layers, owning secure document pipelines (S3/GCS/Azure, permissions, no data leakage), developing OCR + search systems for PDFs, images, and scanned documents, parsing and enforcing complex nested JSON structures, building document tooling (generate, edit, annotate PDFs/images), debugging and scaling pipelines and storage systems, and improving performance, reliability, and system design across the stack. The role operates in a remote environment with a requirement to overlap PST timezone for at least 6-8 hours.

Strong Python (FastAPI) + React experience; comfort working across the full stack; solid fundamentals in APIs, SQL, async systems, and data modeling; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure); ability to work with complex data systems or pipelines; high ownership and low ego with fast execution; experience with LLM/AI systems; OCR, document processing, or search systems experience; experience with secure data handling and permissions; proven ability to build and ship real systems (not just tutorials); must overlap PST timezone at least 6-8 hours for remote work.
