Senior Procurement Officer

Job Description

Reporting to the Procurement & Logistics Manager, the Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for conducting comprehensive research to identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers. The role involves preparing detailed Purchase Orders (POs) that include critical information such as material/asset codes, specifications, quantities, pricing, delivery timelines, payment terms, and vendor contact details. The officer will compare and evaluate offers from multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality, while also tracking orders to guarantee timely delivery. Upon receipt of goods or services, the officer must inspect them for compliance with PO specifications and ensure all items are in good condition, issuing and signing Good Delivery/Receiving Notes (GRNs) as required. Maintaining accurate and updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices is essential, along with preparing detailed reports on purchases, including cost analyses. The role also involves monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels. The Senior Procurement Officer will report periodically to the direct manager as specified and work closely with cross-functional teams to support procurement activities. The position requires a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent negotiation skills, and a commitment to cost consciousness and problem-solving. Experience with ERP systems is a plus, and the role demands a high degree of self-management, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Requirements

B.A. Degree in logistics and supply chain management, management, business management, accounting or related business fields; minimum of 2 years’ direct experience in a similar procurement role; thorough knowledge of spoken and written English (MUST); strong Microsoft Office skills (MUST); strong learning culture and positive attitude; strong negotiation skills; critical thinking and commitment to production; cost consciousness; self-initiator with high degree of self-management; experience in ERP system is preferable; adaptability; communication skills; attention to detail; problem-solving skills.
