Quantity Surveyor / Construction Cost Estimator

Bridan Design Build Limited is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to prepare accurate construction cost estimates from architectural, structural and services drawings. The successful candidate will calculate the labour and material requirements for every stage of construction. JOB DESCRIPTION Review architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities. Calculate labour and material requirements for each construction stage. Break down project costs into materials and labour Prepare tender documents, quotations and cost proposals. Monitor actual site expenditure against the approved budget. Maintain updated construction rates and cost databases. Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and project managers. Conduct site visits to verify measurements and construction progress. Prepare clear weekly and monthly project cost reports. REQUIREMENTS Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying. At least one year of relevant working experience. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and services drawings. Practical knowledge of construction materials, labour requirements and building processes. Strong understanding of Kenyan construction rates and procurement practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience preparing Bills of Quantities, valuations and cost reports. Membership or registration with a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
