Quality Assurance Nurse

The Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for conducting Clinical Record Reviews (CRR) to verify documentation accuracy, quality of care provided, visit utilization, and adherence to agency policies and procedures. The role ensures proper documentation to maximize reimbursement and maintains agency CRR compliance at 80% or greater. Key responsibilities include communicating trends and process changes to the Clinical Manager/Administrator based on QA data, participating in agency orientation and in-service training programs, and developing action plans to resolve identified inconsistencies. The nurse must collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with homecare regulations, CMS guidelines, accreditation standards, and documentation requirements. Familiarity with OASIS, electronic medical records (EMR), and home health billing documentation is highly desirable.

A Registered Nurse with a current state license; minimum of 2 years of home health experience, with at least 1 year in QA of a home health agency; working knowledge of state regulations/requirements; good organizational, interpersonal, and judgement skills; ability to develop action plans and resolve inconsistencies; knowledge of homecare regulations, CMS guidelines, accreditation standards, and documentation requirements; experience with chart audits, quality improvement processes, and compliance review preferred; familiarity with OASIS, electronic medical records (EMR), and home health billing documentation is highly desirable; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams; ability to hear, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
