Regulatory & Compliance Manager

Avanti Energy Services Limited (Avanti) is a Ugandan national company engaged in providing services to the upstream oil and gas production industry within Uganda. The Regulatory & Compliance Manager will oversee all regulatory and compliance activities to ensure the company adheres to national and international standards, laws, and policies governing the oil and gas sector. This role involves developing and implementing compliance frameworks, managing regulatory submissions, liaising with government agencies and regulatory bodies, and ensuring operational activities align with legal and ethical requirements. The manager will also conduct risk assessments, audit internal processes, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on compliance matters. Key deliverables include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, preparing compliance reports, and fostering a culture of compliance across the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or legal roles within the oil and gas industry; strong understanding of Ugandan and international regulatory frameworks; certification in compliance management (e.g., CCEP, CRCM) is an advantage; proficiency in regulatory software tools; excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; fluency in English (written and verbal); experience in upstream oil and gas operations is highly preferred.
