Junior Auditor
Job Description
The Junior Auditor is responsible for supporting internal and external audit activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies, financial regulations, and applicable auditing standards. The role involves examining financial records, evaluating internal controls, identifying operational and financial risks, preparing audit documentation, and assisting in the implementation of audit recommendations to improve organizational efficiency and accountability. Key Responsibilities - Assist in planning and conducting internal, financial, and operational audits according to approved audit plans. - Review accounting records, financial statements, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance. - Evaluate internal control systems and identify weaknesses, risks, and areas for improvement. - Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions and accounting records. - Prepare audit working papers, schedules, checklists, and supporting documentation. - Assist in identifying financial, operational, and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions. - Support investigations into discrepancies, irregularities, and suspected fraud when required. - Prepare audit findings, reports, and recommendations for review by senior auditors. - Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective action plans. - Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, auditing standards, and applicable laws and regulations. - Maintain confidentiality of financial records and sensitive organizational information. - Perform other duties assigned by the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager. Technical Skills - Good knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and internal control systems. - Knowledge of financial reporting standards and risk assessment techniques. - Ability to analyze financial statements and accounting records. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications. - Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage. - Ability to prepare audit documentation and financial reports accurately. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in auditing, accounting, finance, or a related field; Experience in internal audit, external audit, or financial compliance is an advantage; Good knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and internal control systems; Knowledge of financial reporting standards and risk assessment techniques; Ability to analyze financial statements and accounting records; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications; Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage; Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; High level of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality; Good written and verbal communication skills; Strong organizational and time management skills; Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team; Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
