Project Coordinator
Job Description
The Project Coordinator will lead and coordinate research, evaluation, and consultancy projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include project planning, research design, stakeholder engagement, team supervision, data analysis, and report preparation. The role involves preparing comprehensive project inception reports, monitoring project performance, identifying implementation risks, and developing mitigation measures. The coordinator will supervise field data collection activities, ensure adherence to quality standards and ethical requirements, and participate in qualitative data collection activities such as Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). They will compile, clean, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights and recommendations, and prepare project deliverables including inception, baseline, midline, endline, and evaluation reports. The role also involves developing policy briefs, technical reports, presentations, and serving as the primary liaison between the organization, clients, government institutions, NGOs, and development partners throughout the project lifecycle. Additional duties include supervising and mentoring research associates, field teams, and project staff, promoting knowledge sharing, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
Requirements
PhD, MSc, or MPH in Public Health, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field; Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience for PhD holders or 6 years for MSc/MPH holders in research and consultancy; Proven experience in managing research, evaluation, and consultancy projects; Experience working with international NGOs, development partners, government institutions, or consulting firms is an advantage; Strong project planning, coordination, and management skills; Excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills; Experience in research methodology development and data analysis; Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills; Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills; Leadership and team supervision abilities; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical or qualitative data analysis software is an advantage.
