Youth Volunteer (Innovation Unit)

The Youth Volunteer (Innovation Unit) will support the World Food Programme (WFP) Tanzania’s Innovation Unit in advancing an innovation agenda to strengthen the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of its programmes under the Country Strategic Plan. The role involves identifying, testing, and scaling new solutions that address food security, nutrition, climate resilience, and livelihoods challenges. The volunteer will collaborate with government institutions, academia, startups, and the private sector to develop innovative approaches that improve service delivery and reach vulnerable populations more effectively. Duties include researching and documenting innovative solutions, assisting in piloting new initiatives, supporting monitoring and evaluation of innovation projects, and contributing to knowledge-sharing activities within the unit. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to WFP’s values of Integrity, Collaboration, Commitment, Humanity, and Inclusion. The volunteer will report directly to the Head of the Innovation Unit and work as part of a diverse, multicultural team dedicated to humanitarian assistance.
