MEAL Officer – SHINE Project

ZOA Uganda is seeking a MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Officer to join the SHINE Project team. The MEAL Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project progress, ensuring accountability to beneficiaries and donors. Key responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data, developing M&E tools, conducting field visits, preparing reports, and ensuring learning is integrated into project implementation. The role requires close collaboration with project teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement of project activities. The MEAL Officer will also support capacity-building efforts for local staff and partners in M&E best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in M&E, preferably in humanitarian or development projects; Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data collection and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, DHIS2, KoboToolbox); Experience in designing M&E frameworks, logical frameworks, and indicators; Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods; Excellent report-writing and communication skills; Experience working in Uganda or similar contexts is an advantage; Familiarity with donor reporting requirements (e.g., USAID, DFID, EU) is a plus.
