Job Description
History The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) is a membership based non-profit making professional management organization committed to the promotion of excellence and integrity in the practice of management. The Institute was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and other institutions. Senior Internal Auditor KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage the Internal Audit plan and development of Audit programs for the Institute to ensure efficiency in Audit execution. - Carry out risk assessment for the Institute to point out priority areas for the Institute’s consideration. - Carry out compliance audit for the Institute to ensure compliance with the legal and statutory requirements. - In charge of documentation of audit work papers/tests for evidence and reference when required. - Responsible for proper utilization of resources and to provide assurance on their optimal use. - Prepare detailed audit reports and recommend ways to improve internal controls. - Follow up on findings and recommendations agreed during internal audits. - Assist in the implementation of the Management University of Africa (MUA) audits. - Conduct investigations and special projects where applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; recognized professional qualification such as CPA(K), ACCA, or CIA; minimum of 5 years of progressive internal audit experience in a reputable organization; strong knowledge of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (ISPPIA); proficiency in audit software (e.g., ACL, IDEA) and Microsoft Office Suite; excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines; familiarity with Kenyan regulatory frameworks and corporate governance principles; professional certification (e.g., CISA, CRMA) is an added advantage.
