Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of Kibabii University serves as the chief academic and administrative officer, responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the university. Key responsibilities include: providing visionary leadership to enhance academic excellence and institutional growth; overseeing the development and implementation of university policies, programs, and strategic plans; ensuring compliance with national education standards and regulatory requirements; fostering a conducive environment for teaching, learning, research, and innovation; managing financial resources effectively and ensuring transparency in financial operations; representing the university in national and international forums; and promoting partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders to enhance the university's reputation and impact. The role requires a dynamic leader with a strong academic background, extensive administrative experience, and a commitment to advancing higher education in Kenya.

A PhD in a relevant field from a recognized university; at least 15 years of progressive academic and administrative experience in a university setting, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Principal, Dean, or equivalent; demonstrated excellence in strategic planning, financial management, and stakeholder engagement; strong academic credentials with a proven track record of research, publications, and grants; excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion; eligibility for appointment as a full professor in a Kenyan university; registration with the Commission for University Education (CUE) as a university academic; and compliance with the provisions of the Universities Act, 2012, and other relevant laws.
