Chief Financial Officer

Our client is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Ethiopia. The role involves providing leadership in defining the local finance and controlling strategy, policies, and procedures within the overall country context to underpin business success. The CFO will promote cost-efficient operations by identifying cost-saving measures and setting directions for controlling and accounting to ensure financial transactions, policies, and procedures align with the organization's short and long-term business objectives and regulatory standards. The position requires establishing financial goals, monitoring their implementation, and ensuring a red flag system is in place to report problems promptly. The CFO will lead and control the organization's financial resources to maintain the short and long-term financial health of the country within the sub-region. Responsibilities include approving all investments in the country, ensuring accurate and timely management reporting, evaluating investment and acquisition business cases, and coordinating the review and approval process in compliance with company policies. The role also involves continuously improving financial processes, systems, and tools, taking measures to remedy financial risks, and ensuring proper billing and cash collection processes are in place. The CFO will analyze complex financial issues, prepare reports for senior management, monitor finance KPIs, and maintain relationships with top-level experts and the Africa management board.

Post-graduate qualification in financial management and accounting; Minimum 10 years of financial management experience in an international service-related environment; At least 5 years of experience in global express and/or freight forwarding business; Excellent operational process knowledge with a strategic perspective; Communication skills; Analytical skills; Problem-solving skills; People management and leadership skills; Relationship-building skills; Financial knowledge; Regulatory knowledge; Business understanding; Ability to quantify risks.
