Public Area Attendant

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to join our dedicated Housekeeping team. In this important role, you will ensure all public areas are spotless, safe, and inviting for our guests — helping deliver the exceptional experience for which JW Marriott Nairobi is renowned. The Public Area Attendant will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation in all guest-accessible areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and outdoor spaces. You will perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to meet Marriott’s stringent hygiene protocols. Additionally, you will monitor and restock supplies, report maintenance issues promptly, and assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the brand’s reputation for excellence. This role requires a strong commitment to detail, physical stamina for standing and moving throughout the property, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure guest satisfaction.

BA/BSc/HND qualification; Prior experience in housekeeping or public area maintenance is preferred but not mandatory; Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness; Ability to work in a team-oriented environment; Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and lifting; Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment; Excellent communication skills in English; Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
