Field Coordinator – Agricultural Development

Digital Green is seeking a results-driven Field Coordinator based in Jimma (Limu Kosa Woreda) to oversee field-level agricultural initiatives aimed at boosting coffee and maize productivity and increasing smallholder farmers’ incomes in the Jimma Zone. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Field Coordinator will collaborate with local government partners, cooperatives, Development Agents (DAs), financial institutions, and community groups to deliver video-based training, facilitate input credit, and scale digital advisories. The role involves implementing annual work plans, tracking project progress against timelines, and ensuring activities align with research protocols. The Field Coordinator will also support the kebele-level rollout of FarmerChat, an AI-powered agricultural assistant, by training DAs to onboard farmers and deliver real-time advisories to digitally constrained households. Additionally, the role includes coaching woreda partner staff to produce high-quality instructional videos on coffee and maize agronomy, coordinating community training sessions, and evaluating the adoption and impact of video-based extension services. The Field Coordinator will facilitate access to agricultural inputs through partnerships with financial institutions and cooperatives, and support the formation and operational capacity of Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Honey Producer Groups (HPGs), delivering technical training on agribusiness entrepreneurship and the honey value chain. Quality audits during video disseminations and field activities at the Kebele level, as well as collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team to collect impact data and document success stories, are also key responsibilities.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in NGO project implementation or agricultural development programs; Strong expertise in coffee and maize agronomy, agricultural extension, and farmer training; Experience with ICT for Agriculture (ICT4Ag) is highly preferred; Fluency in Afaan Oromo and English is required; Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and cloud-based applications; Proven ability to collaborate with government officials, local communities, and diverse stakeholders.
