Topographer

The Topographer will be responsible for creating contour lines to identify suitable landscape areas for implementation activities using tools such as dump levels and A-frames. The role involves reading maps and measuring slopes, analyzing GIS data, and producing maps of executed works including their shapefiles. The Topographer will also use specialized tools to demarcate land surfaces for radical and progressive terraces, identify cut-off drains and waterways, determine terrace dimensions (width, length, and bow down), calculate terrace spacing or Vertical Interval, and perform other terracing-related tasks as assigned by supervisors. Additionally, the role requires timely reporting of duties and assignments to ensure project progress is accurately documented and communicated.

Degree in Surveying and Geomatics Engineering; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying; 2 years of relevant experience (for Degree holders); 1 year of relevant experience (for Bachelor’s Degree holders); Basic knowledge in reading maps and slope measurement; Proficiency in GIS data analysis and map production; Ability to use tools for land demarcation and terrace design; Strong reporting and communication skills.
