Partnership Specialist

Job Description

The UN Volunteer will support the establishment, coordination, and operationalization of the Civil Society Regional Reference Group (CSRRG) under the Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme (SIARP) 2.0. Key responsibilities include organizing meetings, consultations, and stakeholder engagement processes; coordinating engagement with civil society organizations, women-led organizations, feminist movements, youth networks, and strategic partners across Africa; supporting civil society engagement, advocacy, accountability, and partnership activities; facilitating coordination and communication among UN agencies, the African Union Commission (AUC), Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and other stakeholders; supporting the planning and organization of programme meetings, workshops, and regional consultations; monitoring progress of civil society engagement activities and tracking programme commitments and results; preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations, and meeting summaries; supporting knowledge management, communication, advocacy, and visibility efforts; maintaining stakeholder databases and partnership tracking tools; ensuring compliance with UN Women policies and procedures, including safeguarding and PSEA; contributing to monitoring, reporting, and learning processes; and supporting the development of strategic partnerships to advance gender equality and women's empowerment across Africa. The role applies an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective systematically in all activities.

Requirements

At least five years of experience in programme coordination, partnership management, advocacy, and reporting on donor-funded projects at the regional or international level; experience working in gender equality and ending violence against women and girls (EVAWG); strong experience in partnership building and engaging with civil society organizations (CSOs), women-led organizations, feminist networks, and youth groups; familiarity with African regional institutions and continental coordination mechanisms is desirable; experience working within the United Nations system or other international organizations is an asset; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders; respect for diversity, professionalism, awareness and sensitivity regarding gender issues, accountability, creative problem-solving, effective communication, inclusive collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and leading by example.
