Job Description
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is seeking proposals for consultancy services to support a community-based regenerative blue economy incubation programme in Tanzania. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing an incubation programme that fosters sustainable business development in coastal and marine sectors. Key responsibilities include developing a methodology for community economy incubation, providing entrepreneurship support, and advising on policy frameworks that promote gender-responsive and sustainable practices. The consultant will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and IUCN representatives to ensure alignment with national and regional blue economy strategies. Deliverables include a detailed work plan, a methodology report, and a final evaluation of the incubation programme's impact on community livelihoods and marine conservation.
Requirements
Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Science, Climate Change, Biodiversity, Conservation, Natural-Resource Management, or related fields; at least ten (10) years of experience in community economy incubation support, sustainable business development, or management; proven expertise in gender-responsive approaches; expertise in incubator design, entrepreneurship support, and policy advisory; knowledge of Tanzania’s coastal and marine sectors; ability to work in English (proposals must be submitted in English); experience with fixed-price financial proposals and budget breakdowns.
