Job Description
The Head of School will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership to ensure the continued growth and success of Millfield Runda School. The role involves leading the implementation of the Cambridge International Curriculum, fostering a culture of excellence, and inspiring both staff and students. The Head of School will drive continuous school improvement, maintain high academic standards, oversee curriculum delivery from Primary through Secondary, and ensure successful preparation and administration of Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE examinations. Additionally, the role requires building strong partnerships with parents and the wider school community, ensuring open communication and active engagement in school life. The Head of School will also be responsible for strategic planning, effective management of teams, resources, and budgets, and aligning the school with its core values of respect, resilience, creativity, and global citizenship.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field; a Master’s degree would be an advantage - At least 10 years’ teaching experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position within a British Curriculum/International School - Demonstrable experience leading the Cambridge International Curriculum, including Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, Checkpoint, IGCSE and A-Level programmes - Current TSC Registration - Strong knowledge of Cambridge Assessment International Education standards, examinations and quality assurance processes - Proven track record in school improvement, strategic planning, and effective management of teams, resources and budgets - Added advantage: the ability to teach a Cambridge subject to IGCSE/A-Levels Values and Attitudes As Head of School at Millfield Runda, we expect you to embody our core values, which include: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire confidence among students, staff and parents - Strong organisational and decision-making abilities, balancing high expectations with empathy and integrity - Commitment to continuous professional growth, innovation in teaching and learning, and the holistic development of every child - Building strong partnerships with parents and the wider community, ensuring open, respectful communication and active engagement in school life - Alignment with Millfield Runda School’s values of respect, resilience, creativity and global citizenship
